01 — Mobile Product

T-Break — the option to choose, not the pressure to quit

Product design · mobile · working PWA

A habit app for nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, and weed that asks up front whether you want a temporary break or a permanent stop — then adapts its tone and milestones to your answer, instead of pushing everyone toward the same ending.

Built and tested in real working code, not static comps — including an honesty audit of features that looked finished but stored no real data yet.

02 — Game UI

League of Legends — Ranked Tab

Concept redesign · UX & UI

A concept redesign of League's ranked tab, focused on making competitive play feel rewarding for new and returning players alike.

Rather than impose my own style, I worked within Riot's existing design language — matching their typography and hierarchy so the redesign felt native to the game, not bolted on.

03 — E-commerce & Brand

Flow3r — earning trust in a restricted category

Brand & product design · e-commerce · launched store, co-founded · 2026

A design-led California glassware brand built to earn trust fast — age-gated, compliant, and converting — in a category most buyers approach with skepticism.

Every decision had to work around the category's constraints — age verification, ad restrictions, and a buyer who's wary by default — without the store feeling like it's hiding something.

Skills

What I bring across a project

From game UI to a brand built from scratch, the work has stretched me across the whole product stack — research and interface design through brand, photography, and shipping real code. Here's the range.

UX

User research, surveys & synthesis, problem framing, user flows, information architecture, wireframing, task-based usability testing, edge & empty-state design.

UI

Visual hierarchy, typography, design systems & components, interface design, responsive & mobile layout, interaction & micro-animation, accessibility (WCAG, reduced-motion).

Brand & Product

Brand identity, naming, logo & wordmark design, art direction, brand voice, 0→1 product thinking.

Tools & Front-end

Figma, Photoshop, Lightroom, some front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), AI-assisted development.

Joshua Chang
About

I started elementary school with teachers using overhead projectors and finished it with an iPad for every student and an Apple TV in every classroom. I grew up alongside that shift, watched trends come and go, and learned to tell useful design from design that just looks new.

Somewhere along the way it clicked: good UX and UI are the difference between tech that feels effortless and tech that just gets in your way.

A lot of hours in video games sharpened that instinct. I learned what makes an interface feel right, and what makes someone give up on it, and that's what pulled me into design. I want to build tech that's easier and more fun to use, and I'm just as happy working inside a tight design system as I am starting from a blank page.

Outside design, I've worked service jobs and hands-on trade work — cutting and applying vinyl for race cars, Nike, and entertainment shoots.

When I'm not designing, I'm usually hunting down good late-night eats, walking off the extra calories, and walking my cat.
